U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) reminded South Dakota producers to visit their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office to sign-up for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). Passed as part of the 2008 Farm Bill, CRP is a voluntary program that compensates producers with annual rental payments and cost-share assistance if they establish long-term, resource conserving covers on eligible farmland. General sign-up runs through April 15, 2011.
