Equipping the Sioux Falls fleet of road graders with snowgates would cost almost $500,000 more a year for plowing and another $500,000 to buy and install. The Argus Leader reports that while snowgates avoid people getting their driveways plowed they're slower and citywide use could mean taking 36-hours to clear snow instead of the current 24 hour goal.
